OfficeMax

  • OfficeMax has sought the support of WWF, Greenpeace, and other environmental NGOs to protect its image. While it may avoid unpleasant PR attacks by these green NGOs, developing countries that depend on the income of US retailers to support their development and poverty alleviation programs are left out in the cold.
  • Despite OfficeMax’s commitment to adhering to all applicable environmental legislation and regulations, the company continues to capitulate to NGO attacks and basing purchasing policy on unsubstantiated and inaccurate claims by the same NGOs. This reflects collusion between purveyors of poverty and the retailers in a position to spurn their immoral attacks.
  • OfficeMax’s capitulation will subject the US printing industry to substantial price increases, resulting in job losses, jobs being sent overseas, and a net loss to the US economy.
  • Rather than standing up to NGOs and their immoral campaigns, OfficeMax has shown that they answer not to consumers, regulators, or their partners, but to unelected Green NGOs whose sole purpose is to shake down industry for funding.
